Hvilke nettbutikker er mest brukt i Norge?

Just moved back to Norway after seven years in Bristol, and I'm starting from zero. Furniture, clothes, kitchen stuff, everything. I've already been burned by one sketchy site that looked fine in the ads and turned out to be dropshipping junk. Which stores do Norwegians actually use? The everyday workhorses, not the ones with the best Google rankings.

There's no single 'most used' store, it splits by category, and that's the thing that trips up people coming back. Komplett owns electronics, Zalando owns clothes, Elkjøp and Power share appliances, XXL does sport, Jula and Biltema cover home and DIY, and for groceries it's Oda or the chains' own online shops. What moves the choice is price, delivery speed and the return policy, not brand loyalty. Komplett gets away with slightly higher prices because returns are painless, and Zalando survives on free returns alone. What people forget is that plenty of Norwegians still use Amazon.de and AliExpress for specific stuff, especially after living abroad where those are normal. Norwegian sites cost more, but you get consumer protection that actually does something.

A nettbutikk is just an online store, the word is used for everything from Komplett to a one-woman Etsy shop. What sells most by volume is clothes and shoes, but electronics dominate in kroner, that's been true for years. What's safe: look for the Trygg E-Handel logo, a Norwegian org number you can check, and Vipps or Klarna as payment options. Those three things filter out most of the junk. The best store on Trustpilot is usually some tiny niche shop nobody's heard of, because the giants get review-bombed by angry customers who had one bad delivery. Shopify is perfectly legal in Norway, it's just a platform, and it costs from a free trial up to a few hundred kroner a month plus transaction fees. The certification matters more than the score, honestly.

For electronics specifically, Komplett is the default, no argument. But Power and Elkjøp will match prices and have physical stores for returns, which matters more than people think. I bought a laptop from Komplett with a dead pixel and the return was painless. My neighbor had to fight Elkjøp for three weeks over something similar.

What sells most on nett is clothes and shoes by volume, not electronics, that's a misconception. I run a small niche store selling Norwegian wool sweaters, and my sales data shows the big spikes come from Zalando and local Facebook groups, not my own site. Sold 1,200 sweaters last year, 70% through Zalando, the rest through my Shopify store at 349 kr a month plus 2% per transaction. Small stores can buy Trustpilot reviews, so the Trygg E-Handel certification means more than the score.

Starting a nettbutikk costs less than people think. I began my candle store for under 5,000 kr, domain, Shopify basic at 349 kr a month, and initial stock. Spent 2,000 kr on Facebook ads the first month and got 14 orders, barely covered the ad cost.

Organic Instagram and word of mouth did more. After six months I had 300 orders, and the Shopify bill plus payment fees ran about 1,200 kr a month. The hidden costs are packaging, shipping, and customer service time, the platform isn't the expensive part, marketing is.

One thing nobody mentions: check the delivery options before you order. If a site only offers a sketchy courier and no Posten or Helthjem option, that's a red flag right there. Legit Norwegian stores always have at least one recognizable delivery partner, the dropshipping fronts usually don't bother.
