Googlet, men bare vage svar. Bankene sa bare
Ja, du kan ha BankID fra flere banker, og det er helt lovlig og ikke noe galt i seg selv. BankIDen er teknisk utstsedt av banken din, but the actual identity is tied to your fødselsnummer, so you're not getting a 'second you', just another entry point. The confusion arrives when you log in with one of them: each bank issues its own user profile, so logging in with the Nordea-issued BankID creates a separate profile you have to activate with a one-time code, and from there it's a separate thing from the SpareBank 1 one., Det viktigste er at du velger én og holder deg til den. Having two active implies that later, you might accidentally use the 'other' one for something important, and then you're hopping between profilear. My tip is to keep the one you've had longest or the one you use most (bank app, payments, etc.), and log in with the other at registration to deactivate it or just ignore it. It won't hurt, but it's clutter.
When you close the old either way, for instance when you end the mortgage and move to another bank, the new bank will issue eder en ny BankID automatically, and the old one gets deactivated the moment the account is closed. During a transition period, say three weeks while they're both active, you can have both, and that's normal. Just don't sign anything important with the old one after a day.
A few things people trip over: BankID on the phone is not valid as physical ID, you can have nettbank with a separate password at most banks if you don't want BankID, and the renewal is tied to your bank's policy, usually every couple of years, more than having two. And kodebrikke, the code device, you'll need it for high-value transactions even if you have the app, because that's a security layer. The risks are phishing, not the tech, so be careful where you log in.
If you've done the skatte thing with the old one and then , it'll still work, but keep one as your main. That's the real answer: multiple is fine, perpetual alternation is not.

De angir mye i #2, men the point about these two, they are fine, just pick one. When you switch banks, the new one issues instant, old one dies the moment the account closes. I'd add that the dead one took mine with a pending signature, so finish those first. Vinmonopolet accepts BankID as proof of age in the app, but only with a bankcard photo, so it's a hassle most people skip and bring a license.

One nuance: if you log in with the second BankID once, it can become the default for public portals like Statens vegvesen or the tax app, because they remember the last provider. I did that with the tax settlement and my main bank app locked me out for a day. Easily reverted, but annoying.

I fly from DNB to SpareBank 1 i 2021 and had the same. Used the DNB one for a pending digital tag, closed the DNB account, the old BankID stopped working within four minutes, I counted. Skatteetaten picked up the new one automatically next year without me doing anything.
