Is Bitcoin going to skyrocket in 2026?

Everytape I open YouTube there's a new videomann predicting 2026 in the title. 80 000 til 500 000 kroner, I've seen it all. I'm only a small investor here in Ålesund, and last month the price swung 30%. I get told to 'just hold' constantly, but nobody can tell me what a 'prediction' actually is, beyond someone guessing a number on the internet? So what is a 2026 Bitcoin price prediction, really?

A 2026 price prediction is a guess dressed in a calendar. The word 'prediction' in crypto doesn't mean a calculated forecast, it means someone has taken a model, a hunch, or a headline and projected a number onto a date. The range you've seen, 80 000 to 500 000, tells you everything: when guesses vary by six times, there's no method behind them.

The only mechanical anchor you'll find is the halving. Bitcoin's code cuts the mining reward in half every four years, and that's happened in 2016, 2020 and 2024. Supply gets tighter, so the price tends to climb in the following year or two. But that only works if demand stays the same or grows. If people stop buying, a halving just means fewer coins change hands, not a higher price.

What you're actually chasing is a narrative. The bullish forecasts lean on the 2024 halving, which has already happened. The bearish ones lean on the next halving being years away. Neither tells you what the price will be in 2026. They're telling you which direction the author wants the market to go.

For a small investor, the practical takeaway is that no one knows. Not the guy in the thumbnail, not the exchange, not the forum. Anyone who gives you a specific number for 2026 is selling something. The weather is easier to predict than a market that swings 30% in a month, and even the weather forecast is wrong half the time.

The halving is the only date where 'prediction' actually means something, because the code forces supply down. Rest is noise.

Thing is, most people mistake the post-halving price run for a prediction, but the halving only constrains supply, not demand. The moment someone says 'Bitcoin will hit X in 2026', they're leaning on the 2024 halving, which has already passed. That's not a forecast, that's a guess with a calendar stapled to it.
