Hvordan kan jeg motta penger via PayPal?

  • 2 innleggMedlem siden mai 2021

I won 4500 kr on a slot at Kasinoprat and the cashier says I can withdraw to PayPal. I've never used PayPal, only Vipps. I tried to google but it's all American pages about 'request money' and 'friends and family', which doesn't make sense for a casino payout. Do I need to create an account first, or does the casino give me something to click? And do I need a Norwegian bank account for it?

A PayPal account is your email address and a password, and the casino pays to that address. You don't receive it via a button, the casino initiates the payment, you log in and confirm. You need a bank account in your own name to withdraw the balance to, but you don't link a card.

The money lands as PayPal balance, then you transfer to your Norwegian bank, 1, 3 business days. PayPal is a middleman, so the casino sees your email, not your bank number. If the casino says sent, check the email you used.

No money in 48 hours, contact the casino, not PayPal. The pitfall: PayPal in Norway only allows receiving from a bank-linked account without a card, sending requires a card. Keep the payout in NOK to avoid their conversion rate.

If they stall, file a complaint with Finanstilsynet, and PayPal's resolution center for the transaction. Escalate, don't let it drag.

You don't need a verified bank account to receive in Norway, just one that can verify. But to withdraw the balance, the account has to be in your own name. Small point.

Log in, go to Withdraw, choose your Norwegian bank, lands in 1, 3 business days. I've cashed out three times, once 800 kr and 2700 kr on a Friday, split into two transfers, Monday and Tuesday. Fee is 10, 20 kr in NOK, not 1.5% conversion. Don't withdraw in EUR unless you have a EUR account.

To receive casino money you just confirm the email, the casino sends it. To send money out you need a linked card, that's the only way in Norway. First time I didn't link one, tried sending 200 kr to my brother, got 'send not available' until I added a Visa. Casino payouts show up in 2 hours sometimes, 26 hours other times, depends on their bank. Cash out before Thursday.

Paying with PayPal requires linking a card or bank, at checkout you click PayPal and it redirects you. The 'friends and family' option is not for casino payments, that's private transfers. I once tried to send to a casino that didn't accept PayPal for deposits, only withdrawal. Every payment costs 2.5% + 0.50 kr, so a 1000 kr deposit costs 1025 kr.
